Comic Book Dropoff.jpeg

As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, 2020’s Free Comic Book Day was postponed nationally from its traditional First-Saturday-in-May event date. This prevented many comic-book readers and potential readers from taking part in a major annual event in comics culture. In response, the ToonSeum, with support from New Dimension Comics and STORExpress in Robinson, delivered free packets of comic books to Pittsburgh-area families with children, to bring that culture directly to some of its younger participants!

The first ToonSeum Comic-Book Drop Off took place the weekend of May 16-17, 2020 and volunteers managed to deliver care packages of comic books to 77 children across 30 Pittsburgh-area neighborhoods.

There are already plans underway to make this an annual tradition - stay tooned!
